Quick Start - Installation Guide
Please use the steps listed below to help you get started with your WebCampus e-learning account. Just click on the links below, follow the instructions, and you'll be up and running shortly.

STEP 1 - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS


• We test our courses for compatibility with Internet Explorer 5.01 and    Netscape 4.7 or greater. We will ensure compatibility with new browser    versions as they are released.

• 56K or greater Internet Connection

• Authorware WebPlayer and Shockwave plug-ins.

• Screen Resolution: at least 800x600, Color Palette: at least 16-bit

• 8-bit (or greater) sound card, speakers, or headphones.




STEP 2 - GETTING THE AUTHORWARE/SHOCKWAVE PLUG-IN


In order to utilize our courses via the web, you must first download Macromedia's free Authorware and Shockwave plug-ins. Simply follow the instructions below for your appropriate browser to install both plug-ins. Please be sure to install both plug-ins on your home PC as well, if you are planning on training from home.

To begin the installation process, please select the plug-in you wish to download:

Authorware Webplayer:
Instructions for Downloading Macromedia's Authorware Webplayer Plug-In. Once you have read the instructions below, simply click on the Plug-In link at the bottom to begin your installation.

Internet Explorer - Once you click on Install Now, you will not see a time or percentage of the download occurring since it is an AutoInstall through I.E however your I.E status bar for the download page should read "Opening Page…www.macromedia.com/…etc." Prior to completion, you will get a Security Warning from your browser that will ask you "Do you want to run & install Authorware Webplayer;" please say "Yes." Once you see the moving animation playing in the window (Engaging Instructional Versatile - Installation Complete), your installation is complete. Now simply close the Macromedia page and continue by logging into your WebCampus account.

Netscape - Once you click on Download Now, your browser will prompt you with a save dialog box and ask you where do you want to save the files...simply select your Desktop and click on save. Once the files finish transferring, it's very important that you close your browser down before you install the plug-in. Once Netscape is closed, simply locate the icon on your desktop titled "authorwarewebplayerfull.exe," double click on it, and follow the instructions to install your new plug-in. When done, bring up Netscape and continue by logging into your account.

The Download time will vary according to your connection to the Internet:

• A T1 or ISDN connection will take approx. 2 - 3 minutes (depending on the network traffic) to download each of the plug-ins (Shockwave will take a lot less time.)

• A 56K modem will take approx. 10 - 30 minutes (depending on your actual dial-up connection) to download each of the plug-ins (Shockwave will take a lot less time.)

• Click on Install Now (for Internet Explorer) or Download Now (For Netscape):

    

Please do not interrupt the download process once started.




Shockwave Webplayer:
Instructions for Downloading Macromedia's Shockwave Webplayer Plug-In. Once you have read the instructions below, simply click on the Plug-In link at the bottom to begin your installation.

Please Note: When you initially launch a course, Macromedia will ask you to install some new components, please click on "Allow." Your browser will then alert you with a Security Risk while connecting to our Server; simply select the last option (Don't Ask Again.)

Netscape - Once you click on Download Now, your browser will prompt you with a save dialog box and ask you where do you want to save the files...simply select your Desktop and click on save. Once the files finish transferring, it's very important that you close your browser down before you install the plug-in. Once Netscape is closed, simply locate the icon on your desktop titled "Shockwaveinstaller.exe," double click on it, and follow the instructions to install your new plug-in. Please note that Macromedia will ask you to register your new plugin. Please take a minute and register it to receive new updates for your Shockwave plug-in. When done, open the Netscape browser and continue by logging into your account.

Please Note: When you initially launch a course, Macromedia will ask you to install some new components, please click on "Allow." Your browser will then alert you with a Security Risk while connecting to our Server, simply select the last option (Don't Ask Again.)

• A T1 or ISDN connection will take approx. .30 seconds - 1 minutes (depending on the network traffic) to download.

• A 56K modem will take approx. 8 minutes

• Click on Install Now (for Internet Explorer) or Download Now (For Netscape):

STEP 3a - LOGGING IN AS AN INDIVIDUAL USER


To start off, be sure to have the necessary plug-ins downloaded prior to logging in.

• Click on the Login button r.

• Click on "Member's Login" at the top left-hand corner.

• Type in your "Member ID" and "Password" found in your registration email and click the "Log In" button
(If you forgot your password, use the forgot password link located below the "Log In" Button.)

• After clicking the "Log In" button you should see your "Course Menu"

Select the course you want to view by clicking on it. This will bring up the course map also known as the lesson menu. Start with the first section and work your way down till the end.

Suggestion: We strongly recommend you put in at least 1-2 hours a week to fully benefit from your web based training account. Please remember that the training is available to you at home & at work!

STEP 3b - LOGGING IN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR


• Click on "Administrator Login" at the top left- hand corner.

• Type in your "Administrator ID" and "Password" accordingly and then click the "Log In" button

• After clicking the "Log In" button you should see the "Administrator Menu" on the left-hand side of your screen.

Please refer to your 'Admin Guide' which is located on the right hand-side of your Administrator's Menu for instructions on the features available to you. You may also contact your Personal Training Advisor for an orientation of your account.





STEP 4 - EXITING


To ensure that you receive the credit you deserve for your time invested in our courseware, it will be very important that you remember to always exit the courses properly.

Instructions for logging off:

• When exiting out of a course, first click on the "Menu" or "Exit" button at the bottom of your navigation's bar. Our Learning Management System (LMS) will then ask you "Do you really want to exit the course?" simply select the YES button. In doing so, this will properly exit you out of the course while sending your progress to our Customer Management Information (CMI) server where it will reside.

Exiting Webcampus:

• When logging out of your account in Webcampus, click the 'Logoff' button located on the bottom of the menu on the left side.
